Client Services
Are you unemployed/underemployed?
NENAS promotes economic self-sufficiency by providing job seekers with a range of job search resources and services to help people find long-term employment or advancement opportunities. We help job seekers on a path to employment. Our Client Services Front End staff provide assisted services such as:
- Updating a cover letter and resume, or resume templates to help create your resume
- Computer access for job searches, and to take job-related online training
- Photocopying, and access to telephones
- Local labour market job board – Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Fort Nelson
Through our Employment Assistance Services (EAS) staff, you can find out more about:
- Education and training funding opportunities
- Employment financial assistance for essential work related items such as tools, coveralls, work boots, and safety tickets such as OFA1, WHMIS, Bear Aware, etc.
- Career planning and exploration
- Skills upgrading or training through our local training institutes
- NENAS programs and services, and resources that support employability (apprenticeship program, on-the-job work experience).

Apprenticeships combine paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction to certify you in a designated skilled trade.

NENAS offers funding programs to help in your journey to entering into a skilled-trade or apprenticeship program.
We have established partnerships with ITABC, and certified training providers/colleges.
NENAS’s CERT Career Employment Readiness and Training has become an essential for students who are first time job seekers, have been out of the workforce for a while, who may be entering into a trades or post-secondary academic program after being out of the education system for a while. Essential Skills are the core learning skills required to function in all aspects of work and life. The 9 Essential Skills are: Reading, Document Use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral Communication, Working with Others, Thinking, Digital Technology, and Continuous Learning.
NENAS has helped hundreds of Indigenous people with developing their Essential Skills and we can help you too!

Programs
Sas Natsadle Aboriginal Head Start is an early intervention program that provides for the needs of the whole child and their family through support services. The program focuses on the involvement of parents, who are the child’s first and most influential teachers.
Early intervention pre-school programs benefit parents and children. Many parents report improved relationships with their children, greater life satisfaction and psychological well being resulting from the supportive social networks that this community based pre-school program offers.
Bladerunners has been helping youth for more than 25 years, we’ve helped over a thousand kids get jobs and can help you too!
If you are between the ages of 19 and 30, living in North East BC and looking for a job, contact one of our advisors to get started. We provide you with 2 weeks of basic safety training which includes First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection and many more. While you are in training, you get a hot breakfast and lunch each day. When you complete your training, we provide you with work gear and tools and then we find you a job!
Three Job Coaches are on staff to assist participants from the time they enter the program until they no longer need support and for those who take part…Once a BladeRunner Always a BladeRunner!
The Programs department provides pre-employment and group training programs that lead to industry recognized certifications. We partner with public and private post-secondary institutions to offer you the best training possible so that you can find the career of your choice.
We have trained hundreds of Indigenous people and set them on their journey towards the most in-demand jobs in BC. We have trained people for work in such sectors as: business, health, information technology, education, forestry, tourism and many others.
